Top 5 Things To Do on the Gold Coast with Kids

  1. Visit the Theme Parks
Some of the most popular activities on the Gold Coast are the famous theme parks – and for good reason! They are incredible! Dreamworld, Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World, Wet ‘n’ Wild, White Water World, Paradise Country, Outback Spectacular, and Skypoint Observation deck are unique and individual activities the kids will absolutely love. You could spend an entire holiday just on these parks alone! And what an amazing holiday it would be. Although you’d need another holiday to recover!

  1. Spend a Day at the Beach

Greenmount Beach, Coolangatta (patrolled by Surf Life Savers)
Surfers Paradise Beach (patrolled by Surf Life Savers)
Kurrawa Beach, Broadbeach (patrolled by Surf Life Savers)

  1. Go to the Park
Famous for fun, the Gold Coast really does deliver with several major children’s parks along the beachfront for hours of entertainment!

Here are our Discover Queensland top 5:

Pratten Park, Broadbeach
Highlights include: two equipment areas, climbing equipment, flying fox and great location.

Broadwater Parklands, Southport
Highlights include: jumping pillow, bike tracks, café, patrolled swimming area, seesaw, flying fox and inflatable water park next door!

Justins Park, Burleigh
Highlights include: A stellar location in Burleigh, despite being smaller than the aforementioned parks, there is a great family atmosphere with views over the beach.

Pirate Park, Palm Beach Parklands
Highlights include: It’s a pirate ship. This themed park brings out every child’s imagination with slides, tunnels, and climbing equipment along with BBQ areas, a beach, and grassy nooks.

Queen Elizabeth Park, Coolangatta
Highlights include: another smaller park, but it strikes a great balance between location and equipment, with the beach and restaurants nearby.

  1. Meet the Wildlife
A long-time favourite with the kids, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary provides an intimate experience between kids and wildlife that creates memories of a lifetime for the kids and their families. A history in conservation stretching back over half a century, the sanctuary hosts an eco ranger program for kids during the Queensland school holidays. Bonus: kids under 4 enter free.

If your kids hit it off at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary or just really love the outdoors and wildlife be sure to drop past David Fleay. Establishing his wildlife park in 1952, David was the first person to successfully breed platypuses in captivity!
