| Brisbane plays host too many major sporting teams and events, these include The Brisbane Lions and The Brisbane Reds.
When in Brisbane be sure to check out the following venues:
- Suncorp Stadium is the home of Rugby League in Brisbane, and is the home of Queensland Rugby League.
- Brisbane Cricket Ground (The Gabba) hosts domestic and international cricket matches as well as Australian Rules Football.
- Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre (QSAC), is the third largest sporting arena in Queensland. The stadium hosted the 2001 Goodwill Games.
- Brisbane Exhibition Ground, also known as the RNA Showgrounds has been home to Cricket, Rugby League and Speedway style Motor Racing.
- Ballymore is the home of Rugby Union in Brisbane and is the former home of The Brisbane Reds.
- Perry Park is the home of Soccer in Brisbane.
- The culture of Horse Racing is alive and well in Brisbane with 3 Racetracks located at Eagle Farm, Doomben and Albion Park for the trotters
Brisbane also hosts several mass participation events each year including the Brisbane Marathon in April and the Bridge to Brisbane Fun Run in August.
