Capricorn Coast Accommodation

There are many diverse places to stay on the Capricorn Coast. There are a multitude of hotels, island or beachside resorts that offer water sports, horse riding and other water activities. Or for the more adventurous - you can rent a yacht or small boat and explore the many small islands off this beautiful part of Queensland's coastline. You may even enjoy staying in one of the many bed and breakfasts or a beachside holiday home. There are many things to do and see from the Capricorn Coast's deserted beaches and sparkling white sands to quaint seaside villages.

The region's largest town, Rockhampton is situated on the banks of the Fitzroy River.

The Capricorn Coast is a coastal region in Queensland, generally spanning the areas between Keppel Sands to the south, and Byfield and Shoalwater Bay to the north. The Capricorn Coast lies astride and to the north of the Tropic of Capricorn; although there are no exact geographic boundaries. Yeppoon is the largest town on the Capricorn Coast and the administrative centre of Livingstone Shire. The 20km coastal strip between Yeppoon and the township of Emu Park is a series of coves and small bays separated by headlands.

Yeppoon is a coastal resort town situated on Keppel Bay, Fraser Coast. The main tourist attraction are the long stretches of beaches, while the islands of the Keppel Group, in particular Great Keppel Island.   Gladstone was once branded "Gateway to the Great Barrier Reef" as it has access to Heron Island, Wilson Island and other islands from the marina and local airstrips.   Rockhampton is known as the Beef Capital of Australia. One of the best ways to discover Rockhampton is via the Heritage Route.
