Gold Coast Hinterland Winery Tours
Gold Coast, Queensland

Encompassing the rainforest beauty of Mt Tamborine and the emerald countryside in the valleys of Canungra, Clagiraba, and the Albert River, is Queensland's boutique wine region. The Gold Coast Hinterland Wine Country is a spectacular wine region featuring boutique wineries and vineyards producing award-winning wines. The cellar doors and restaurants of this region operate from historic homesteads and buildings, and offer the visitor an exceptional wine tourism experience. This impressive wine region is situated a short half hour from the Gold Coast and an hour from Brisbane.

The Gold Coast Hinterland Wine Country is the fastest-growing wine region in Queensland, and the high quality wines found in this area are rapidly making their mark in state and national wine shows.

Encompassing the cooler climate of Mt Tamborine through to the milder climates of Albert River, Canungra and Clagiraba Valleys, the region allows a diverse range of grape varieties to be grown. These range from planting of Verdelho, Chambourcin and Semillon, through to Merlot, Cabernets Franc and Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chardonnay, and Viognier. All are boutique wineries, that are proud of show casing some of the best premium wines made in Queensland.

The cellar doors are filled with people passionate about Queensland wine and enjoying a glass in the glorious hinterland country. Here the welcome to visitors is as important as the wine and gourmet food served. The Gold Coast Hinterland Wine Country aims to demystify wine - taking a relaxed, informative and "at home" approach to their wine tastings. Many of the wineries offer superb restaurants, cheese tastings, gourmet picnics, as well as winery and vineyard tours. Educational wine and food tastings are also available. Group tours are welcome, as are individual travellers.
