The world’s largest sand island is heritage listed alongside the likes of Uluru, Kakadu, and The Great Barrier Reef, and is the only place where rainforest is known to grown on sand.

Famous for enormous sand dunes that reach over 200 feet height, if you reach the top you can enjoy breathtaking views of sharks, dolphins, whale’s turtles and other island wildife, passing ships and boats, as well as some of the 40 or so inland lakes dotted across the rainforest-laden landscape. The other bonus is you must come down!

This destination is an alluring mixture of tranquillity and action. There are crystalline creeks, uninterrupted stretches of beach flanked by colourful cliffs, and striking blue, tea coloured, and clear inland lakes fringed sandy beaches.

You’ll also find hundreds of kilometres of 4WD tracks for the adrenalin junkies as well as plenty of water activities including snorkelling, scuba diving, and glass bottom boat tours that revealing stunning coral reef filled with vibrant tropical fish and marine life.
