The Sunshine Coast means sun-drenched beaches, sparkling water and year-round swimming in temperate waters. The secluded coves and bays fringed by Noosa National Park, one of the few absolute beachfront national parks in Australia.
Truly special are the dramatic coloured sand cliffs of Rainbow Beach. It's a 4x4 adventure land. Kilometres of unspoilt, white sandy beaches and turquoise rolling surf.
Cruise past massive banks of coloured sands, their ochre shades in picture perfect contrast to the blue skies and sparkling ocean.
There's the vast Pumicestone Passage, its sheltered waters dotted with kite surfers and small craft. Stroll the charming Norfolk Pine-lined boulevard at Bulcock Beach, savouring a gelati along the way. The calm waters of Mooloolaba Spit and Golden Beach are perfect for kids to make a splash or learn to fish.Long stretches of sandy beaches, including Kawana, Maroochydore, Coolum and Sunshine Beach are ideal for surfing, boogie boarding and relaxing walks. Kings Beach is a unique combination of a surf beach with a salt water swimming pool.
Take a closer look at the rusting skeleton of the SS Dicky wreck on Dicky Beach, one of a handful of Australian beaches with its own shipwreck. |
