Coolum Accommodation

Coolum is your quintessential coastal village complete with picturesque beaches, enormous mountain surrounded by luscious hinterland, warm Sunshine Coast weather, and some of the best Sunshine Coast accommodation.

The surf beaches are patrolled year round to match the unfalteringly beautiful weather so it’s a great area for the kids to play and swim safely. In fact Coolum has bred many world champion surfers who grew up taking on the area’s famous breaks, so it’s a great spot to hit the waves! Why not try a surf lesson or hire a board and give it a go? Many Coolum accommodation hosts will offer either board hire or have a tours desk to organise a session, while you and the family are there you should also try your hand (or feet) at stand up paddle boarding and boogie boarding as well.

If you prefer to appreciate the beauty of Coolum from the land, you’re still in luck!  Coolum are very proud of their conservation efforts leaving them with beautifully preserved rainforest, bush, and native flora to observe. So strap on some skates, hire a bike, or simply take a stroll down the one of the best beachside board walks of the Sunshine Coast. Your boardwalk adventure will follow the coastline for kilometres while brandishing some of the well-preserved coastal flora as well as the gorgeous beaches.

There are a multitude of other bushwalks available that flaunt the amazing flora and fauna of Coolum including Mount Emu, the Coolum and Peregian sections of Noosa National Park, Yinneburra Bush, Yaroomba Bushland Park, and of course, the famous Mount Coolum. Reaching the peak of the volcanic remnants that are known as Mount Coolum requires a reasonable level of fitness and usually takes between 45 minutes to an hour but is certainly rewarding as it offers visitors a magnificent view of the coastline, beaches, and hinterland.

As well as a plethora of sun-loving, adventure activities, Coolum also has a hugely popular café and restaurant district offering a variety of cuisine. For a beautiful dining experience with exception service look no further than Captain’s Table. For the best fish ‘n’ chips in town head down to Essence Coolum Seafood, if a drink and a light meal or snack tickles your fancy then Jack’s Place is a great little nook to settle into.

Golf enthusiasts beware – Coolum comes equipped with some pretty impressive wares. So impressive that the Australia PGA Golf Tournament has been hosted by Coolum for several years, making the Palmer Coolum a must for any Golf lover. There is also a less challenging, but equally as delightful 18-hole course for the less serious-a-golfer.
