Gold Coast Weekend Under $200 with The Entertainment App

The most famous, family friendly holiday destination would have to be the beautiful Gold Coast, with so much choice in places to stay, see and activities to do!

Partnering with the Entertainment App and Discover Queensland, we had the challenge of seeing just how much fun we could have in a day with a $200 budget. As a family of 4 we are always searching for the best deals and things to do.

So let me tell you what we fit in!

First up was the Hopo, the hop on, hop off ferry that travels around the beautiful Gold Coast canals, stopping along at some iconic spots like HOTA (Home of the arts), Marina Mirage Shopping, Seaworld and more. We did a loop from Surfers Paradise to Seaworld and back and took in the beautiful sights. Refreshments can be purchased on board and tickets are available at the Hopo booth in Surfers Paradise or onboard. We used The Entertainment App for 25% off an adult day pass! Kids under 4 are free too!

We had built up an appetite after a beautiful morning on the water, so headed to the Northcliffe Surf Life Saving. Definitely the most picturesque and beautiful surf club I’ve seen (even the toilets could rival any nightclub I’ve ever been to!).

We opted for classic burgers and fries while enjoying the ocean view. The food portions were generous, a great price and made even better with our 25% off (up to $50) voucher from The Entertainment App. Hubby and I even added a yummy dessert to share while the kids had icecream included in their kid’s meals.

Once we had refreshed and taken in the stunning view, we went south down the highway to Putt Putt Mermaid Beach for a game of mini golf. We bought the 2-game family pass but only fit one game in with the kids (and maybe me) taking our time to get around the 18 holes! With the 2 game pass we can go back any time to play the second round. We saved a huge 25% off the regular admission price with The Entertainment App.

At Putt Putt Mermaid Beach there are three themed courses, The Jungle Trail, Fun Run and Waterways which we chose to do on the day. It was such a fun, family bonding experience and we had so many laughs. They also have a video games arcade, licensed 19th hole refreshments, barbecue zone and free onsite parking. Putt Putt Mermaid Beach is open 9am to 10pm, 7 days a week.

Of course we had to do an afternoon sweet treat so we chose the iconic Ben & Jerry’s. They offer of 2 for the price of 1 on choc waffle cones on The Entertainment App. Delicious! You can find Ben & Jerry’s in Surfers Paradise and wander down to the beach to enjoy them! The hardest thing is choosing from all the amazing flavours!

After a jam packed day, we were ready to head back to SeaWorld Resort for a rest and swim. Whilst the accommodation didn’t come under the $200 itinerary with The Entertainment App, we went to our friends at Discover Queensland who always have the best deals on for stays at SeaWorld Resort and other amazing Gold Coast hotels!

SeaWorld Resort offers the experience of staying right beside SeaWorld, watching beautiful sunsets, having family fun in the pool and also offers a wide choice of beautiful places to eat at an affordable price.

The resort also features a kid's zone with movie room, games room, gift shop, shows for the kids and access through to SeaWorld if you are planning to go there.

To plan your next budget friendly family holiday, be sure to head to Discover Queensland and The Entertainment App to have a jam-packed getaway that will be one for the memory books.
