Friday Afternoon – Night: Shrek the Musical at QPAC

After your dinner, head over to a 7.30pm showing of the Oscar-winning Broadway hit, Shrek the Musical. Based on the DreamWorks film, the show is playing in the Lyric Theatre for a limited time, and with tickets starting from $59 this is a must do. For younger kids, Shaun The Sheep’s Show is also playing at the Lyric Theatre, QPAC from 2 March.

Saturday Morning - Afternoon: Ride the Brisbane River Loop

Enjoy a hearty breakfast together at your hotel, before setting out on a whirlwind adventure!

Pack your scooter, hire a bike or strap on your skates and take on the Brisbane River loop. You can start at any point and head in either direction. Starting from the CBD you’ll jump on at Eagle Street Pier and head towards the Story Bridge, and along the opposite side of the river to reach Kangaroo Point before crossing back over the Goodwill Bridge and finally past the Botanical Gardens.

Enjoy lunch at Eagle Street Pier upon your return, and head back to the hotel for an afternoon relaxing by the pool for some recharging and quiet time.

Saturday Night: Catch the CityCat

Sunday Morning - Afternoon: Queensland Museum (SparkLab Science Centre)

Enjoy breakfast and check out. Before you leave, head over to the Queensland Museum at South Brisbane and visit the SparkLab Science Centre. Learn how STEM affects your everyday world with live experiments at the Science Bar and get hands on at the Maker Space as well as getting creative with the three interactive exhibits. This adventure is great for all ages, but ideal for kids 6 to 13 years. Learn what a marshmallow would look like in outer space or explore the mysteries of density and what makes things sink or float.

After your science centre session, venture next door to explore the Sea Monsters: Prehistoric Ocean Predators exhibit. This masterpiece dives into the reptiles that ruled the depths of the sea millions of years ago. You’ll see real fossils as well as giant replicas including 13 metre long Elasmosaur and 9-metre long Prognathodon. There are also plenty of interactive activities to keep the whole family entertained.
